The big natural talent Irina Hayrapetyan started playing piano at the age of 2 years. When she was 6 years old, she entered the music school “Sayat Nova” in Yerevan. Since then, her music career started. Already at the age of 14, she won her first prize in a Fr. Chopin competition of young musicians.

Irina was born and raised in Armenia and trained as a concert pianist and chamber musician from the Yerevan State Conservatory with professor Karine Ohanyan. Later, she also trained at the Royal Danish Music Conservatory in Copenhagen as a student of Josè Rivera and Niklas Sivelöv, where she received her 2nd Masters degree.

Today Irina works at The Royal Theater in Copenhagen. She is also a sought-after soloist and inspirational interpreter of especially romantic and 20th century piano music.

Performance

Irina’s concerts are distinguished by depth, exceptional brightness, originality of interpretation, technically impeccable and very musical. You can especially feel this through the works of composers like J. S. Bach, S. Rakhmaninov and Fr. Chopin.

In the works of Irina one can feel fortitude, high intelligence, which makes even familiar work be perceived as new. Irina’s absolute ear, colorfull personality and wide imagination allow her improvise in all genres, including jazz.
